Going BEYOND Fan Photo Competition
THE COMPETITION IS CLOSED - WE HAVE A WINNER!
South African soccer fans are known around the world for their lively, colourful and fun costumes and decorations at matches that show their support for their favourite team. We know that soccer fans coming to visit from other countries are going to be decked out in support of their national side for the FIFA World Cup™ in South Africa, and we’re looking for the most inspired, colourful and fun photos of fans at soccer matches from around the world.

All you have to do is post your best photo on the
Beyond the 90 Minutes Flickr group and stand a chance to win a special makarapa of your very own! These amazing South African fan accessories are traditionally made from miner's helmets, each hand-made and truly one-of-a kind. Other prizes for finalists include famed
Vin de Constance wine from Klein Constantia (made by our "local",
Adam Mason who will also offer a private cellar tour and tasting when the winner is in Cape Town), and dinner for two at
Marco's African Place (run by
Marco Radebe, another fabulous "local"). All the finalists are automatically entered into a competition worth more than R50 000, with prizes awarded at the start of the FIFA World Cup™ in June 2010!

How to enter:
1. Find your best photo of yourself or friends in your wildest, most colourful and most fun soccer-inspired costumes – face paint, clothing, props, lighting, craziness. You can be supporting your national side, club team or any soccer team, but it needs to be soccer, soccer, soccer.
2. Go to
www.flickr.com and upload your picture to the
Beyond the 90 Minutes group before 31 December 2009. If you want to win you have to join the Flickr group, and be sure to check the Discussions in the group for the announcement of the finalists and the winner in case you win the big prize!
3. Our crack team of football fan and fashion judges will arbitrarily select through a non-scientific process the best photos
4. The winner will be notified via announcement posted in a discussion on the Beyond the 90 Minutes Flickr group as well as on the campaign website, and (after we’ve notified them) their winning picture will be plastered all over the website, e-mailed around the world and shared with the media. It will be their 15 minutes of global fame. If the winner will be in Cape Town during the FIFA World Cup™ we will invite him or her to help us celebrate the beautiful game in the most beautiful place in the world (good for another 15 minutes of fame, maybe more).
5. We will ship this unique, hand-made authentic South African makarapa to the winner, to help them cheer on their favourite teams in distinctive style. The other prizes will be sent to the second and third-place winners (dinner from Marco's will not be shipped, but rather vouchers for dinner). All finalists will be entered into the BIG competition happening in June 2010, just before the opening match!

If you suspect it’s inappropriate, it probably is, so don’t do it. Thanks.
